Rellana Woolly Heads

The Task: A highly cost-effective promotion for Rellana Hair - a range of fringed yarn - that had the potential to convince wool buyers directly at the various points of sale.

The Idea: In order to demonstrate the typical character of the wool at first sight, faces were printed on the labels around the balls of wool as a winter special. The packaging therefore communicated the main use of the yarn: it is perfect for scarves and hats.

The Result: Sales figures and even orders over the web rose in such a way that promotion was successfully extended for another 6 weeks.

PanPan Atelier

Visual Identity for a new artisan bakery chain in Valencia, Spain. Contemporary reinterpretation of the traditional ear of wheat, the bread's main ingredient, to form a pattern that is easily recognizable. The brand instantly stands out among the average bakeries that use literal illustrations of wheat in their visual identity. The ear wheat pattern also reminds of antique artisan techniques such as woven esparto baskets, used to display the bread, or opus spicatum, used to build stone ovens in the past.

The naming concept of PanPan is based on word repetition in order to emphasize authenticity. Bread bread, as in real bread. This system is carried throughout most packaging materials under one slogan with double meaning: "PanPan. You will repeat".

New Isostar

"The new packaging design for Isostar products created by Cartoon Design in 2009 had for its main objective greater shelf impact while preserving its expertise and functionality that targeted regular sportsmen.

The specific consumer benefits  “before/during/after sport” led the agency to graphically differentiate each sub-range for an instant understanding of the concept.

What On Earth

"We designed a new packaging concept for the organic food producer "What on Earth". The new packaging uses linocut illustrations that can be arrangement in different ways. It was important not to use computer generated but hand made images that relates to the hand-made and organic aspect of their products. The cake boxes are the first new design in a range; other products packaged in boxes, tins and wrappers will follow later."

Living Nature

"Living Nature had the product and the "natural" credentials, but the original look was too earthy and health shop. To compete on the world stage it had to look outstanding. This challenger brand needed to disrupt the skincare sector.

DOW dialed up the sophistication, gave it a Kiwi flavour, without the cliche, and that, combined with 100% recyclable packaging, enhanced its consumer desirability. The success is not only the key retail distribution, but also the price premium is able to sustain."
